Hi Jonah, we are sorry to hear about your ich problem. In order to help you figure out how to solve it, it’d be best for you to give us a little more information: what brand of medication have you been using? Also, how long have the symptoms been present? Are there any sensitive fish in the tank (such as a Ghost Knife or Elephant Nose)? If you can get back to me about those questions, we can give you the best answer. Thank you!

  10. Jonah Foust says:

thanks for offering to help but the day after i let you know about it the fish started to get better and i haven’t had any problems with ich. I was using rid-ich and that seemed to do the trick

  11. Jonah Foust says:

and i forgot to let you know that your voice mail box is full so when i called and no one answered i couldn’t leave a message…but i was wondering if you guys were open for Christmas?

  12. Jonah Foust says:

i just got a used 55 gallon aquarium the middle bar is broken. I was wondering if you guys had replacement bars or had a whole replacement top rim and bar. Please let me know soon, if anything by tomorrow, i might come in :)

  13. admin says:

Great- so happy to hear your ich problem is now taken care of. And we are now back to regular hours, so hopefully we will see you soon!

  14. admin says:

Not sure if you’ve already stopped by the store, but if not the piece you need is an entire black rim that goes around the top of the tank, which includes the black bar. It will be $30.00 and takes 4-6 weeks to arrive, so let us know if you’d like us to place an order for you!

My betta wont eat it keeps eating the food then spitting it out the fish food i use is betta bites what should i do

  16. admin says:

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear your betta is having trouble. In order to help figure out the problem, we have a couple of questions: did you recently purchase this fish or have you had it for awhile? Also, was it eating the pellets prior to this and just began rejecting them?

In general, betta feel most comfortable in a small tank or bowl of at least 1/2 gallon. Bettas prefer to have something in the tank to give them coverage, add oxygen & serve as a place to rest, like a bushy plant. If the betta suddenly stopped eating the pellets after already acclimated to them, then something is going on other than just being a picky eater.

Make sure to give your betta fish regularly scheduled water changes, and if you suspect it’s just picky eating then live bloodworms usually does the trick!

Let us know if this helps, and good luck with your fish.

Hi I wanted to know how a lunar wrasse would do in a 55g reef saltwater tank? thanks

  18. admin says:

Hello! Very sorry for the delay in response. We recently updated our website which caused a bit of delay during the transition.

A Lunar Wrasse will outgrow a tank of this size. It would be alright to start out in a 55 gallon tank with the understanding that you will need to upgrade to a 75 gallon tank at the very least, with a 125 gallon tank as a better choice. The Lunar Wrasse is not a good reef tank specimen since they eat bristle worms, shrimp, young crabs, brittle stars, and even the occasional urchin. Good luck, and please don’t hesitate to come by the store to discuss this further.
